Q. What are the health benefits of cinnamon?

Q. How much do you need to get the benefits?
A. 1/4-1/2 teaspoon a day is plenty up to 1t/day.
Q. I hear there is one type of cinnamon I should avoid?
A. Yes, avoid Cassia cinnamon and opt for Ceylon and Korintje (different regions where it is grown).
*Cassia has high amts of coumarin which can cause liver damage if consumed in high amounts over a long period of time.
Q. What can I eat it with/add it to?
A. Sprinkle on oatmeal, yogurt, pancakes, baked goods, smoothies, coffee and tea, and surprisingly good on sweet potatoes with PB!
*Generally a great natural and calorie free sweetener!
